higanは一台のモジュラーシンセサイザーのための作品です。一般的にラウドスピーカーは大きな音を出すための装置として扱われますが、限りなく小さな音を出力できる装置でもあります。ラウドスピーカーはダイナミックレンジの最も広い楽器の一つであると同時にシンセサイザーはそのポテンシャルを十分に引き出すことのできる数少ない楽器です。higanはその特性を利用し、聴くものの感覚を研ぎ澄ませ、これまで 意識にのぼらなかった音を聴くための挑戦です。
音響作家／楽器デザイナー。2016年にPROGRESSIVE FOrMよりアルバム Shin Sasakubo & Akiyuki Okayasu「invisible flickers」をリリース。自作の制作で培われたデジタル信号処理技術を活かして、インスタレーション作品のサウンド・プログラミングやミュージシャンへの特注の楽器製作、ライブ演出システム製作を多数手がける。現在はモジュラーシンセサイザーメーカー「Groundless Electronics」の立ち上げのために奔走中。

higan is a work for a modular synthesizer. A loudspeaker is generally treated as a device that produces a loud sound, but it is also a device that can produce an extremely small sound. A loudspeaker is one of the instruments with the widest dynamic range, and a synthesizer is one of the few instruments that can fully exploit the potential of loudspeakers. In this work I will challenge to make use of these characteristics to sharpen the sense of audience and to listen to sounds that have never been conscious.
An acoustic artist and musical instrument designer. In 2016, he released the album “Shin Sasakubo & Akiyuki Okayasu ‘invisible flickers.’” Utilizing the digital signal processing technology cultivated in his own creation, he worked on sound programming for installation works, custom made musical instruments for musicians and live production systems. Currently Okayasu is struggling to launch the modular synthesizer manufacturer “Groundless Electronics”.
